Beginners’ Courses
We are offering Beginners’ Courses to gain entry qualification to do archery.
These courses are run typically on a weekend and comprises of 3hrs tuition on 2 consecutive days (Saturday and Sunday). This will be either in the morning or the afternoon. Adults and juniors are welcome. The entry age for children is 10 years. Children must be accompanied by a parent or a responsible adult. In order to receive a certificate of completion you must have attended both sessions. Our friendly coaches will guide you through the course. Following completion you would be eligible to join our archery club – or indeed any other archery club affiliated with ArcheryGB.
When you consider signing children to the course – please note:
To support our junior members, we operate juniors’ evenings 7-9pm on Tuesdays and Fridays during the Winter and Tuesdays in the Summer, where archery supervision is provided. A parent should be present. Note that demand to attend junior evenings is high and access is not guaranteed.
For a junior to shoot at other times they must be supervised by another adult member to ensure they are shooting safely. The simplest option here is for a parent to complete the beginners’ course and become a member too, so both can shoot together at leisure.
It may be possible to form a connection with another archer who can provide safe oversight, however be mindful that they may want to focus on their own archery too.
If – after completing the Beginners’ Course – you consider joining the club – please go to the membership section here on the website where you are required to register for the club home access.
Due to high demand there is a waiting list for the beginners courses, you may be able to find another club running beginners courses on the Start Archery web site
